One outfit from warm day to cool night

It was in the 70's today.   It's October and we call this season autumn but it felt very summer like.  Tonight, however, was a different story.  I got dressed this morning knowing I wasn't going home before my outing with my daughter tonight so that called for some creativeness in my outfit.  

I started the day with a denim skirt, 3/4 length sleeves, vest and flats with bare legs. Before our outing I layered a button up under my top and vest and put on socks and boots.  Now, had it been much colder I would have added a scarf and beanie which I did for the pictures.  I prefer it to be cold enough during the day for the whole winter outfit but Mother Nature likes to show who is in charge and it certainly isn't me.

Finally enough chill in the air

So tonight I was able to wear boots and a light weight sweater with a scarf.  It's probably stupid to be excited about that but I am.  I just am.  Fall and winter are the best seasons for fashion.  I love summer clothes too but there are so many more options with winter garb.  I may look a little boring in only neutrals tonight but I was comfortable and love this.  It's ok not to have color every once in a while.  

Ok, let's talk about men.....

.......and fashion....you knew what I meant!  There is nothing like a well put together, well dressed man that carries himself with confidence and tact.  Let me show you a few looks on a man that totally melt me....into a puddle...at his feet....just kidding, I'm not that shallow.  Seriously though....  

This look I love!  It's classic and a bit on the dressy side but without the stiffness of a tie.  Business but with a fun flair....and he has great hair.  

And then there is this....yeah.  Adding a blazer to jeans is a great way to catch my eye...especially with that face.  Just kidding....calm down. 

And to totally dress it up...because sometimes there is a place to go looking like this.  

Then there is the casual man.  Jeans, chunky sweater....love it.  Everything about this look is awesome.  

And to really be casual on those fun, run around days or just hanging out there's this.....did I say I have a weakness for a man in converse?  

Yes, choice of shoes says a lot about a man. 

When a man wears a watch....um hmmm.  Can't really explain that one...other than I like watches and I notice arms and hands.

I don't know who this guy is but I follow him on IG.  He always has cool photos and he's not bad to look at either.  Just sayin.  I love this look and the camera...love photos of people with cameras.  Weird, I know.  

And then there is the man that can dress in Georgia Tech colors....that's always special.  

Magical puffer vest

I dedicate today to the puffer vest even though it's still not cold enough to wear one.  Can you say impatient?  I love puffer vest for so many reasons.  You can take a puffer vest and make so my different outfits and it look totally different every time.  They look great and are warm.  I like the lighter ones best because I wear it as an outfit and not a coat.  You can pair them with a long sleeve t-shirt, button up shirt, lightweight sweater or even a heavier one if there is room in the vest.  You will notice many of the outfits I post will be with the vest. Guh!  I can't help it.  They are awesome.  

The Chambray Shirt

The chambray shirt is a must for every wardrobe.  I'm telling you, it goes with just about everything!  My advice is to have a couple of different kind.  I have two solids (dark and light), a stripe one and a polka dot one.  I try them with different outfits to see which works best. I will be posting those outfits in later blogs.   You can find a chambray shirt just about anywhere now days and not have to spend a fortune.  

Is it cold yet?

Seriously, I'm ready to wear my winter clothes!  

Closet turnover

I call it closet turnover for obvious reasons.  Out with the old (and sometimes not old) and in with the new.  I get great joy in selling something I just don't wear much and purchasing new stuff.  Face it, we women can get bored with our wardrobe.  I have a rule.  If I want something new, I get rid of something I already have.  It's good stuff too.  I just want a change.  Check me out on Poshmark.  User name cheriega.  I have many, many items for sale.  Happy poshing!  

Warm fall days

When I think fall, I think of a chill in the air. Boots, scarves, sweaters and jackets but I am from the south where autumn brings  a little relief from the heat in the evenings and then the next day it could be a little chilly.  Needless to say, I have to check the weather every day to have an idea of what to wear.  On days like today I could look a little like it's fall without melting but no boots or sweater.  Guh!  I just want it to get below 65 degrees on a daily basis.  

 

Staple scarves every wardrobe needs

Scarves are pretty and they have a way to pull an outfit together.  Here are just a few of mine.  Every wardrobe needs the basic neutral colors, a couple of bright colors, stripes and a plaid.  If you have those, you will have a scarf to wear with anything....of course there is nothing wrong with having a few extras.  

Passionate about style and fashion

Ok, so blogging isn't alien to me.  I have been blogging for years about this, that and everything else.  Sometimes it turned in to more like an online journal....and that's ok but I wanted a blog with a theme.  A purpose.  A passion.  I love many things.  Some of which include books, coffee, interior decorating and music and after a bit of thought I decided that fashion is something that wins out.  I love the different choices and styles and to me, what we wear, well, it says a lot about us.  Join me in this journey of style ideas, etiquette and just straight out my opinion.  Knowing me, it's going to get interesting.  Hold on and enjoy the ride.
